Can we get details of private trust using rti?

Hi All,

I have a query that Can we get details of a Private Trust Using RTI ? if yes into which Department ?

I want to know the Income and Expenditure of that trust using RTI..?
If not with RTI then let me know the procedure how can I get Financials of my trust ?

Actually Problem i s

We have a trust for our community formed by Private members but even we are donating funds to the trust , Trust is maintaining a hostel to provide accommodation for poor students in our community who cannot stay in private hostels and study..Recently we came to know there is So much of misuse happened in Trust Funds.
I want to know the Income and Expenditure of that trust using RTI..?
If not with RTI then let me know the procedure how can I get Financials of my trust ?

It is not possible to get the information under RTI Act in case of trust.
If you are a donor to the trust, you can as well demand for utilisation of the funds donated by you and ask for the income and expenditure statement directly to the Chairman of the trust.

Yes, We are demanding to provide us the details how the funds are used...but Chairman sir is not willing to provide us the proofs and Financials of trust...yes we are donors to trust also...is there any other way to get financials??

Issue a legal notice demanding the extracts of accounts namely, trial balance/balance sheet for any financial year on the basis of the trust member/donor, if not complied you may approach court of law seeking direction for declaration of the same by the chairman of the trust.
