Husband not ready for mutual divorce or take wife back

(Querist) 25 September 2013 This query is : Resolved
In a divorce case the respondent, husband, takes the stand that he is neither ready to take the wife back nor ready for mutual divorce. Wife has expressed willingness for both options before the judge.

So, in this situation, can judge enforce any of both option on the husband, or can judge take any action or adverse reference on husband?

Judge have no right to force .
Wife filed Divorce.
Wife offer to join, is contradiction of her own Petition, As she wanted Divorce, so she will loose the case.

It is highly dangerous to take contradictory stand in the petition by wife. She should persue her case and should get the decision on merits.

Thanks experts.

I think, in this case, the husband is also taking contradictory stand by contesting the divorce petition and at the same time saying he is not ready to take wife back. Am I right? or contesting divorce only means divorce should not be granted on the given grounds, and still husband is free not to take her back during the proceedings and even if he wins?
