if a will is to made.is it necessary to register the will or is it
ok if it is signed in the presence of two witness. What is the correct procedure
A V Vishal (Expert) 25 January 2012
It is sufficient if the will is signed before two witnesses. In law there is no provision that the will must be compulsorily registered, however it is also not a bad idea to get it registered in larger interests.
Bhumik Dave (Expert) 25 January 2012
Registration of will is non mandatory by law but its advisable to registered as registration is strengthen the evidential value of will.

Rgistration of will is not required by law but requirement of law is that will should be signed in presence of two witnesses.

Every will is for being challnaged on several grounds. Registeration only protects the will form being challged on the grund of authenticity. It odes not protet it from other grunds for challnages.
prabhakar singh (Expert) 26 January 2012
A WILL can be made by a person of sound mind
who understands what is he doing, for that the WILL should be in writing and should be signed by the person making it, who in law is called testator,in presence of two attesting witnesses and those attesting witnesses should also sign the WILL in presence of the testator.

Will so created is a valid will and shall take force after the death of the testator. Legally such a will does not require registration but registration makes the document safe in case of loss or destruction of original.

Any will can be challenged by affected parties registered or not but in such a case registrar's endorsement make it a little more weight full.
