This query is : Resolved
I am Pradeep from Chennai. We had married my girl on 08th April 2010 under special marriage act.Am belongs to Hindu and my girl belongs to Christian. Both of the parents give opposition to our marriage. We live with our parents separately till 08/04/2010. Now we plan to surrender in front of the police commissioner and ask them to protect from our parents.
My queries are listed below:
Is there any problem arise when we are surrendering in front of commissioner?
Is lawyer required or not?
I have the marriage certificate with us for safety.
What are the other problems arises regarding this.
Pls clarify.

if you had complied with all the legal provisions at the time of marriage then there is not need to be afraid of anyone.
if you suspect that the police will be favoring the other party then seek protection from the High Court by filing appropriate petition.
your fundamental rights can not be abrogated by the police or the parents of the girl.

1]no problem should arise.
2]legally not required but you may have one if you feel uncomfortable.
3]you must have your marriage cirtificate with you.
4]If police favors parrents then seek direction from high court. No other problem expected.

while supporting the legal opinions expressed,I suggest to involve the help of any elders or common friends to have an amicable arrangement before proceeding with legal options.
