can anybody give me any citation for inquiry should be completed within six months? show cause notice was given to me in 2008 and charge sheet was issued to me in March 2010 and i am retired and charges are of minor nature under rule 10 of Maharashtra Civil services? pls can anybody help me in this

There is no limitation to complete domestic enquiry within a period of 6 months.

Some of the State Governments have issued orders to the effect that departmental enquiry should be completed within 6 months. Hence, you can go through the orders issued by the Maharashtra State Government.

Central Vigilance Commission issued instructions for completion of departmental inquiry with a period of six months with schedule for every stage of inquiry, as given in the attached document. Similar instructions, based on the CVC letter, would also have been issued by the State Vigilance Departments. So, please check if the attached document can help you.
