Just wanted someone to throw some light on this issue... Just consider a flat which has defaulted in payment of stamp-duty and which has now been demolished for the purpose of Redevelopment..Is Stamp duty for the said flat recoverable with penalty from the owner of the said flat after the demolition..

stamp duty is payable by buyer.Its' deficiency is recoverable any time when it comes to light to gather with 10times penalty.

I too agree with your comments but what if the buyer i.e the builder has reconstructed a new building and a new society is formed after that. Now in this case who shall be responsible because the buyer has sold the new premises to new tenants and has been off his rights in the said premises.
