Sir
I would like to start importing of cosmetic goods from thailand Korea and china. could you please advise me how to proceed for this business and what kind of documents required for same.
How can i sell these items in indian market and what would be the taxation policy for the same. and is that mandatury to tag mrp on these products if it is not for retail sale and only for institutional sale.

1..at first youhave established a company/firm etc.
2..then got the pan and
3..open a bank account
4.. after this you have to apply for VAT to the state authority
5.. and after this youhave to apply for importer exporter code number with the DGFT office or its regional office in which your establishment falls

I am resident of Chandigarh and having a commercial place in the municipal limits in mohali.someone has suggested instead of registering as importer get register as service provider , Sir what is the difference between two and what will be the conditions of getting registered.

Sir is these any testing/certification required for these products I mean any lab certificate that it is fit for use if it is not made in india or the other international standards are ok

Dear Anonymous,
If you are serious in starting a business, then the best way forward is to consult a lawyer with all your facts (which probably you will not be able to reveal here for obvious reasons) and take appropriate legal opinion supported by legal provisions, and then move ahead.
The views that you will get her would only be overall views and not addressing your real concerns in a very specific manner. Therefore, you have to necessarily approach a lawyer, if you are really serious.
