CERTIFIED COPIES OF JUDICIAL RECORD

Guest (Querist) 25 February 2011 This query is : Resolved
1.WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CERTIFIED COPY AND COPY TO COPY?

2.CAN WE GET EACH DOCUMENT OF A CONCLUDED CASE FILE IN THE FORM OF CERTIFIED COPIES WHETHER IT IS FILED IN ORIGINAL OR PHOTOSTATE FORM ?

3. CAN A COPY TO COPY SUPPLIED BY HIGH COURT BE USED IN A JUDICIAL PROCEEDING AS A RELIABLE DOCUMENT?
Parveen Kr. Aggarwal (Expert) 25 February 2011
From the file of courts, we cannot get certified copy of each and every document placed thereon. Certified copies of only pleadings, orders, oral evidence and documents admitted in evidence (exhibited documents) only can be obtained. The documents whereof certified copy cannot be granted, generally copy to copy is provided.

A copy to copy is not a certified copy.

Certified copies of some documents are per se admissible where copy to copy is not admissible in evidence.
