intercaste marriage

hi

I m Sandeep kumar(27 yrs old), i love a girl(27 yrs old) belongs to other caste and we both want to marry each other . Her family members threaten us . Tell me what kind of protection govt. will provide if we will marriage under such situation or what step we can take to protect our self from her family members. PLZ guide us.

Supreme Court in a case titled as Lata Singh v/s State of UP has clearly said that the parents may severe the social ties but can not kill the couple.

you may get married as per wish and after marriage move an application to the concerned Police Commissioner or SP of the area, the police is duty bound to protect your life and liberty.

In case no such protection is provided then you can approach the High Court by way of appropriate petition to seek protection of life and liberty.
