Domestic Violence Act

I was married and in Feb'2008 got a divorce decree through mutual consent. Now after the divorce my ex wife has filled a case against me under Domestic Violence Act, Is the law clear in this aspect as during the tenure of complaint period, i am not into any relationship with the complainant.... please advise

That itself is very good and strong defence. Prove that you had no contact with her during the relevanty period.

Hello Mr. Venkataraman / Mr. S Subramanian.,

Thanks for your immediate replies and suggestions and please note the following -

01. The Complaint is filed under S.12 of the Domestic Violence Act, 2005 ( 43 of 2005 )
A. Under Section 20 to pay for some repairs of flat given vide gift deed to the ex wife as part of mutual consent.
B.Under Section 21 give custody and deposit my passport with the Court.
C. Under S. 19 pass restraining order etc
