what is the time limit of filing the chargesheet by the police in case accused are not arrested. the accused has also obtained order under 482 from high court.

Ninety days is regarding granting of bail. If the police fails to submit charge sheet within 90 days then the accused person as a matter of right gets bail. There is no prescribed time limit for submitting charge sheet.

As in understand, if accused are in jail then charge sheet has to be submitted within 90 days, failing which accused shall have right to get bail. otherwise there is no time limit for filing chargw sheet. pl correct me if I am wrong.

In addition to Mr. Vijay's openion I have to say that if the accused is not in jail the charge sheet must be filed before the period mentioned in Sec 468 Cr.P.C.. In the query, what order was passed under 482 is not mentioned. If there is a stay the period of stay should be exempted from the limitation prescribed in Sec 468.
