dear sir/madam, I belong to dhangar (gadariya) community. i took admission in my graduation on obc certificate of gadariya. the dhangar community which is subcaste of gadariya comes in sc category under the entry no. 27 of 1950 schedule caste list.
Earlier these scheduled caste certificates were not issued as a case was pending in the honourable supreme court. rather the members of the community were given OBC certificates.i want to apply in civil services with dhangar(sc) certificate.. so i want to know whether i may face any problem in future. i have both certificate one of obc as gadariya and another one is dhangar as sc. kindly guide me in this direction as early as possible.. thank you

If In school certificates your SC caste status is mentioned. Then it will be easier for us to get SC certificate. Your father or mother belongs to Dhangar SC community?If your father belongs to Dhangar SC community your caste will be determined accordingly.Now the status of your caste as SC or OBC is pending in Supreme court. Let us assume soon the apex court would decide the status of your caste either as SC or as OBC.

Mam, Thank you for your reply. Honourable supreme court has given its judgement on this issue. Dhangar have been given sc status and the district authorities are issuing schedule caste cercertificate now. But I need to know is there any problem if I apply in future for a govt. Job as a SC candidate, as my previous records will show me as a obc?

If you earlier joined as OBC that was because at that time your cast was not SC.
Now onward (if facts given by you are correct) you are SC and can claim benefits.

Keep a copy of the judgment and notification with you.
Inquire with office that issued the caste certificate for further and needful.

I have also similar opinion as of Sudhir and Doab. You apply under the head SC taking the benefit of Apex Court judgment.
