My client's father and his four brothers partitioned ancestral properties of land and buildings in the year 1969-70 after death of her grand father and grand mother. The partition was done orally with out any registration by which time my client and her two elder sisters and younger brother were born. It may please be clarified whether my client has rights in the ancestral property.

Mr. Murthy,
First one has to confirm whether the property in question is "ANCESTRAL" or not.
Without confirming this, any answer given here would be of no real use to you.
Therefore, first you have to indicate how the property came into the hands of the grand father of your client - whether he self-acquired it or received it from his father. In both the cases the year in which he got the property.
Depending upon the answer / information provided by you, if need be further questions will be asked.

Shri Anirudh,
My client's grand father acquired the properties from his fore fathers approximately in 1850. Hence it is not self-acquired. Kindly clarify.

It hardly matters in which year the ancestral property was acquired. The status is that the property is ancestral and the author has a right therein.
