Absence - unauthorised

What is leave? A person on leave - will he be counted as absent? How is absent different from unauthorised absent?

Don't ask definition of leave. Just state the real fact. Leave applied cannot be treated as leave unless sanctioned by a competent authority. If you sit back in your house without applying and getting prior sanction of leave, that can be treated as unauthorised absence from duty.
