you can join NGo if you so desire as long as it does not interfere in discharge of your offical duties

I respecfully disagree with experts as the same is barred under the Defence Service Regulations.

There is no blanket ban in Armed Forces. One can seek permission and if permitted, join the NGO.

You can join a NGO if, and only if, you are permitted to do so by your commanding officer.

I concur with the views o expert Dr. Vashista. You are a subject of Air Force Act under which you are bound 24 hours by it, hence you are not permitted to participate in any activity outside Air force while being a service personnel.
