There is no fees Limitation in Advocate act.
Though there is guideline on Advocate's Fees ,and Advocate is at Liberty to negotiatehigher fees with client depending upon the nature of work. It is in paralleled to Dr., surgeon's Fees.
However Advocates are subject to Disciplinary Proceedings by Bar Council, in case of misconduct. This includes work not done or doc retained due to fees unpaid , etc.
Fees range from say Rs. 100 to Rs. 10 Lakh for same work, of appearance before the court. Busy & popular Adv charge more.

It is the stature of an advocate and socio -economic back ground of his clients that leads to the quote of his fees.It is not regulated by any law. However for costing it in a decree the civil general rule gives some guidance in this regard but that does not regulate advocates.
