This query is : Resolved
sir a complaint in police station was entered in General Diary of Police station. Now my question is sir whether general diary entry of police station is valid or not. Generally i heard FIR is having validity. are there any court judgments relating to divorce issues based on general diary entries.

Your query has two aspects viz. one is regarding validity of General diary of police and other is about entry of divorce.
So far daily diary or general diary is concerned, it is purely a valid document. If police finds any matter not cognizable then it is entered in general diary and if any cognizance is required to be taken then FIR is lodged in another register.
Now come to the second part of your query. Divorce is not a cognizable matter in the eyes of law so police is not even required to enter it in its general diary but even if it has entered therein, no fault can be attributed thereon.

GDR or DDR entries are perfectly valid....every act may not result into registration of FIR...whenever any information is received at police station with respect to a criminal act, the same is entered into a register and the same is known as GDR or DDR.
Divorce is not a domain of criminal jurisprudence...and the police have no role to play in Divorce litigation....So far neither the marriage nor divorce have been declared as offences in the world :D :D :D :D
