Interest is a concept of economics that money is a scar thing then if we postpone a need and part it's possession in favor of another's demand(called lending) we should get "some thing more in lieu of our sacrifice"and that is called "interest".In due course our greed goes beyond limit which gave birth to law to regulate the greed for good health of the economy.
