Do we need commercial registration vehicle for staff conveyance purpose?

Dear Sir,

I'm working in a construction company at site. We have a Personal Registration No vehicle in the name of company which is used for staff conveyance purpose only to & fro site to room.

Now local police TI(Thana Incharge)caught our vehicle and asking for commercial no & commercial insurance.

Actually, vehicle is in the name of company and used only for staff conveyance purpose not for any other commercial purpose or we can say that it is provided for staff welfare purpose.

Now question is do we need commercial registration or it is ok ?

The car need not be commercially registered.

The activity of transportation of the staff do come within commercial activity so the version of the police is accurate.
