Sir.
Prior to case of 125 husband denied in the answer of notice that jewelry of wife is with husband's parents custody.

During proceeding of 125 while out of court mediation they denied the same.

But during evidence father of husband admitted that they opened the cupboard of wife and found all jewelry there.

Now court has ordered for maintenance.

What is the best way for wife to recover Stridhan/ jewelry from her fatherin law/motherin law/ husband ?

By filing DV case or by filing case u/s 406 IPC.

Both options can be opted including a third by filing a prejury against husband before the court wherein he filed an affidavit to the effect that the jewellery is not in his custody.

Sir whether only retaining jewelry with himself and if he does not use it, may cover Sec 406 IPC. If not which section may cover UNLAWFUL RETAINING OF ONE'S PROPERTY/ GOODS.
