Copy of documents under RTI Act from the court

Whether one can obtain copy of Charge sheet/ case diary etc. from the court under RTI Act.

Yes, certified copy can be obtained by applying the provisions of RTI if the concerned High Court has passed Rules in that direction but only the charge sheet not case diary.

apply to the PIO of the concerned court asking for the certified copy.

You can also file an application for the certified copies of the same by filing an affidavit showing the reasons for what copies are required.

case diary can be applied and certified copy of the same will be given to the party on payment of prescribed fee.

RTI comes only in the absence of procedure in obtaining copies of documents.
