Generally, information provided by the PIOs are not certified to be true copies.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 13 September 2014
Yes you can get those copies. You have to pay the RTI fees and Cost of the copies.

Insist for the PIO to sign in all the pages of the document supplied by him.

ya u can take the copies and ask the concerned PIO(Public Information Officer) to give the receipt of the payment made against the papers which you took under RTI, no. of pages and and ask him to sign and put his seal, it is as good as true copy.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 13 September 2014
there is no such provision of certified copies.

The documents are given under covering letter which itself is authentication.
P. Venu (Expert) 14 September 2014
Some of the CPIOs stamp the documents as "provided under the RTI Act."
