Sir,
I have lost my credit card long time ago (23-Jan-2004) which was issued by Standard Chartered, just after I lost the card I have submitted my requisition to block the card on 24-january-2004 and which was duly acknowledged by the Standard Chartered bank personnel.
But after 6 years I have received a legal notice showing that I am defaulter for some amount which was not used by me at all.
When I have contacted the customer care the say the card was in used till October, 2004 so please guide me on how to proceed further.
Please find the attachments of scanned copy of the letter submitted to the Standard Chartered and their legal notice to me.
An early response would be highly help full to me.

When I was a Law Student during the mid 80s, I felt that, to become a successful lawyer, one should have three basic entities required for the profession. I presumed these three entities are Money Power, Muscle Power and Political Power. Since all these aspects were absent to support me on the long run, I did not take up law practice. Though I am settled as a successful banker in its IT field I am still puzzled about that decision and conclusion. I find even without talent and knowledge about law one can survive in this profession successfully as I see many lawyers even from my own family fall under this category. I do not know as to Whether I am right or wrong. Academic brilliance and inherent professional talents would hardly come to the rescue to make a mark in the society. I invite all learned brothers to join this debate.

Hi. This is a bit urgent since I am intending to join some good AOR as soon as possible to learn good litigation work. Can somebody please suggest names of few good Advocate on Records (under whom one can learn good work) who will be designated as Senior Advocate / Senior Counsels by Supreme Court in next 1 or 2 years. Date 20.01.2010.

my neighbour is having poultry feed unit. as a result of that we are facing problem of smell from last 20 years. He got permission from MPCB under Water Pollution Act(simlified concent)in 1993. can it be nullified on the ground that we are facing problem of air pollution and there is no water pollution at all....

Dear Sir,
Recently i cleared QLTT and going to be registered as a solicitor in England and Wales after fulfilling the very tedious procedure. I was assured by the mediator for placement in big LPO after clearing QLTTb but now he left this industry and moved abroad. Now i want to know whether i am having good future in a corporate sector or not ? as well as is there any special place or immunity available to solicitor in Supreme Court of India or not ? Thanks

have one Query for issue of bonds.
Our co is issuing a Bond to single allottee. Total value of Bond is Rs. 24 crs. The Bond is Optionally Convertible Redeemable Bond. Bond is issued in Mumbai.
Please tell my the rate of Stamp duty applicable on the the Bond Certificate?

The Standard Chartered Bank people are harassing me via phones and also thru legal notices ( attached in this mail), I am planning to file a CASE against them, please advise on this sir, an early response would be help full to me.
