Wrong information displayed in birth certificate mcdonline

(Querist) 18 December 2020 This query is : Resolved
Hi
My maids daughter had given birth to a boy in 2013. She got her son's birth certificate made through an agent.
Now she needs to change the name her name due some issue with her husband.
I got her details and checked it out on mcdonline website to see if the details can be changed online.
The details could be changed online but all the details mentioned about her online are wrong.
For eg : my maid's daughter's age at the time of birth is showing 19 years but as per her Adhar and voter id card her age at the time of birth of her son should have been 22 yrs.
Similarly she is a graduate her education is showing as illiterate. And she is a Muslim but her religion is showing as Hindu.
There is an option of major correction and minor correction but for that to be done my maids daughter will need to upload her Aadhar card or any other ID where her age is different.
As per the information she gave me she had never submitted any ID proof to the agent.
Now what should be done as she needs to change her name and update all the records with MCD about her son.

Kindly advice.

Regards

Kanchan Singh

Refer the " National Government Services Portal " website and the necessary corrections could be made there. You could seek the help of Internet Cafes near by. and your agent's presence is not mandatory for this

But the details are mentioned as all wrong her age ,religion. She fears that she will be harassed for this. What to do about that?

Issue Gazatte notification for change of name and religion. In respect of date of birth, you need to file a case. Thereafter, you can update the Aadhaar.

Gabriel Sir
The Aadhar card details are perfect. The date of birth of the son is perfect.
The age of the mother i.e My maids daughter is wrong in records as compared to her Aadhar card.
Now the record in Muncipal corporation of Delhi is wrong with respect to the Child's Mother age.
In that case where to file a case and with whom

Advise her to obtain correction form, submit the same to Municipality with Affidavit and other documents.
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 19 December 2020
Approach concerned MCD Commissioner with relevant details/documents for necessary correction in their record.
If no or wrong action taken file a declaratory, permanent and mandatory injuction suit.

It is quite natural that the details contained in the birth certificate will go wrong mainly because the details are provided by some bystanders or relatives who may not know the exact details about the parents of the newly born child.

Therefore inherent provisions are provided in birth registration law itself for correction of such erroneous details.

The registration of birth is done by some specifically authorised officer designated as local birth registrar in the municipality or grama panchayat.

In Kerala it is the health inspector in the municipality and the secretary in gram panchayats who perform the functions of the local birth registrar.

If the websites of birth registration in your state provides for a mechanism for correction of data you can very well use the site to correct the data. Otherwise you will have to to find out the local registrar in your municipality or gram panchayat and approach him with an application.

Correction of details in the birth certificate is something that happens quite often even in literate and educated state like Kerala even.

What is the source of this wrong information? If the birth had taken place in a Hospital, it is probable that they had furnished the wrong information.

Anyhow, the matter could be taken up with the competent Municipal authorities to correct the mistakes.
