you cant sell the flat for 10 years . the very objective of the SRA scheme would be lost if slum dwellers start selling the flats immediatedly after they have been alloted. hence the lock in period of 10 years wherein no thrid party rights can be created
MUMBAI: Flats allotted under a slum rehab scheme cannot be sold or transferred, the Bombay high court has ruled. A division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice Ranjit More ordered the police to seize and seal four flats in a Chandivli slum rehabilitation project by Tuesday.
"No allottee of a rehabilitation flat in an SRA ( Slum rehabilitation Authority) scheme can transfer the flat for a period of 10 years, said the judges. The court ruled that "gift deeds'' and "power of attorney'' used to transfer the flats were of "no consequence''.
