How to obtain the documents from court as a defendant. Please explain the procedure involved

Which nature of documents? What is said by your lawyer? Submit an application to the court, if there is a provision to issue, they will give otherwise, it will be returned.

The documents produced / submitted by the plaintiff has to be supplied to you (defendant) as a matter of right.
If you have not been supplied photocopy of the documents, request the Court (in writing) to direct the plaintiff to supply copy of all documents.

Yes,defendant has right to get copies of documents submitted by plaintiff alongwith plaint.Request to court to direct plaintiff to provide you copies of documents so you may submit your w.s within time.

If by any chance you did not get the copy of the documents, you may file a copy application requesting the certified photocopies of the documents filed by the opposite party before the concerned court.
