Possession letter need not be written on a stamp paper.

@Usman, 1. Did you get the Sale Deed registered? 2. If yes, there is a covenant in the sale deed where the vendor (seller) has delivered peaceful vacant possession of the property (under sale) to the vendee (purchaser). Accordingly there is no need/legal requirement for a separate "possession letter" consequently no stamp duty to be paid. 3. However, even if the "possession letter" is felt necessary/required or desired no separate stamp paper is required to execute "possession letter", it would be written, signed, witnessed and attested on a plan paper.

It can be on plain paper. Agree with the experts.
