(Querist) 30 October 2018 This query is : Resolved
Can a live in partner be introduced as wife to friends & neighbours ? What will be the parent's name of a baby, born out of live-in relationship? Is it a criminal offence to have a baby in live-in relationship ?
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 31 October 2018
How you are concerned with the question ?
Of course two adult persons of opposite sex living under the same roof has to be introduced as WHAT, is to be decided/ disclosed ?
Your problem qua off-springs of such relation is vague.
Consult a local prudent lawyer if there is "some" truth in the story.

No criminal offence if the child born out of this live in relationship. Child will be legitimate by all means.
You may call your live in partner as your wife nothing wrong or criminal in addressing her your wife.
Isaac Gabriel (Expert) 31 October 2018
After the recent judgement, a new word ''companion '' has been coined which could be used for introduction instead of clandestine wife.

In reply to Dr J.C. Vasista.
How am I concerned with the question ?
Sir, my wife is separated from me for the last 10 years. Though she is highly qualified & employed as professor of a central govt institution, she receives regular monthly maintenances for herself & for our children, as per court order. I have to live alone. I am an engineer & an Govt employee. My age is 51. I want to get married & have a child which is not possible in present secenario as i have not yet got divorce. I am afraid of the probable bigamy charges against me. I am also concerned about the social recognition & security of my yet to partner & children.
