My husband sold 2bhk flat which was on his name.he has filled a divorce case on me in may2013 and has sold the flat in december 2013.can i get any help? he has also taken away my jewellry by saying security reasons as he asked me to shift to belapur from vasai 2yrs ago before he sent me divorce notice.

since your husband was absolute owner of flat he had right to dispose of the same . if no injunction had been granted against sale of flat he could dispose it . if he has taken away your jewelry you can ask for return of your streedhan . you can file complaint under section 498A for return of your streedhan
Nadeem Qureshi (Expert) 20 March 2014
the flat has been sold, now you can file a case under section 406 of Ipc or file a recovery suit against your husband, if any cruelty regarding dowry demand then you can file 498A case or domestic violence case too

If your husband was absolute owner of the property he has right to dispose it off. You can demand your stridhan from your husband as advised by the expert.

stridhan is that part of a woman’s wealth over which she alone has the power to sell, gift, lease or exchange, mortgage — wholly or partially. Here, 2bhk flat was in the name of husband.

Yes, this is enough to prove his income. You will be awarded with maintenance.
