No. Banks are not covered under RTI Act especially for providing the Statement of Account.

No, you can not, bank comes under RTI but they can not provide any third party information .

Yes. You need to approach the managing committe. Banks are not under obligation to provide you information regarding third party.

RTI is for the information which is not oterwise available to you. As pointed out by Mr Shroff, you can get it from society. In any case the society is bound to submit its rreport to the Registrat which includes balance sheet. You can get any information under RTI which the register is empowered to call from society. Just visit registrar office. They face these problemts daily.

Banks will claim exemption under the provisions of RTI Act for not providing the information as it is a third party information.

Any account with bank is confidential with its' customer whose status can not be disclosed to third person.
As member of society you have right to ask about it from managing body and on refusal you can complaint before its' registrar.

Account information is confidential. Think of it like that, would you love to disclose your income etc to strangers.
