Pay protection on changing government job

Hello sir I am employed in Indian railway service in pay band of level 12 I have been offered job in other government department with pay protection. But I am due for promotion to level 13 but order will come after 6 months with validity from back date so if I join another job right now will I get pay enhancement when my orders for promotion come after six months or I will get pay of level 12 only as pay protection kindly reply

Incomplete information can not lead to form proper opinion.
However, switching to a new assignment your pay will be protected at level 12 till other (existing) employees of your seniority may reach the level.
Consult a local prudent lawyer practicing service matters for better appreciation of facts and guidance.
