you can obtain declaration from court, it will serve the purpose.
Kiran Kumar (Expert) 24 November 2010
the certificate will not be issued as advised by Mr. Vishal, but you may seek declaration to the extent that the deceased was the lawfully wedded wife of applicant (husband)

A marriage certificate is not a proof of marriage.. i wonder as to why u require certificate after death of your wife...
M V Gupta (Expert) 25 November 2010
If the certificate is not proof of marriage what else it is? A marriage certificate apart from establishing the relationship of husband and wife, also serves as proof of marriage. For issue of passport etc. one has to produce the marriage certificate. In Maharashtra registration of marriage is made compulsory although non registration would not nullify the marriage which is performed as per the exzisitng religious and customary practises.
