Why sc/st land is considered a benami property?

Not all the lands, but within the notified areas. You can verify it with the tehsil or with registration department.

You may go thru the provisions of the shceme if any under which land was allotted to SC/ST category person
And
Benmai Property Act
And relate..
If land is in the name of person/title holder that has paid for the cost then IT may not be Benami.
IT would be grossly wrong to label all SC/ST land as Benami.

'Buyer Beware' applies to property deals.
