Making a joint will for safeguarding interest of children in case of both parent's demise

(Querist) 25 September 2013 This query is : Resolved
My lawyer has written a will jointly for me and husband appointing executor and defining how our property (some of which is ancestoral property in my name and the rest is joint between us) will be distributed between our two children (both minors-under 10) and safeguarding the same till they achieve majority. Also, in case of death of one spouse, all property and assets will go in entirety to the surviving spouse.
On coming to this site, however, I realise that a joint will cannot be registered. Is that still in effect? And if so, how can we make two individual wills that allow one spouse to leave all assets to the surviving spouse and at the same time both spouses can have same provisions as far as distribution and safeguarding of assets in case of demise of both spouses at the same time? Pls. advice.
