I am a general caste woman with an agreement to purchase a land plot from schedule caste in Bihar.I have made the contact in land registry office,dc/DM office to arrange a prior permission of administration for such purchase.Even I contacted to many local advocates.But everyone told that in Bihar ,there is no need to get any prior permission for such purchasing.Even such deals are not banned by laws in Bihar.Such deals & registry of land very common in Bihar.But I have heard that in many states either it is banned or prior permission is required.Iam in confusion.Please suggest me that what I have to do in this situation.

Posted about 9 hours ago Though many illegal transaction take place in Bihar purchasing the properties of the SC/ST owners but the same is illegal on challenge by either of the legal heir of such seller so instead of following the same practice, do as advised by RO.
Respected Sir;
AS per your guidance I went to DM office for prior permission for such transaction.But he told that as per new Bihar tenancy act modification ,now permission is only required in case of government alloted schedule caste land. I ALSO visited registration office & found same view that previously permission was required in Bihar but in 1969 it was declared ultra vires by high court Patna & since that time registration of such land going very frequently.I have contacted land and revenue officer of Bihar secretariat.HE also told that land rules are differed from state to state & at present no need of prior permission OF DM.

as you have guided me to go as per advice of RO.What hat means of RO-kindly mention the full form.
Sir;
please give me advice that what I have to do in such transaction.

RO refers to Registering Officer but as you have personally obtained the desired information so go ahead and get registered sale-deed in your favour.
