Division of paternal property

My father has two brothers and one sister.my grandmother is also alive. my grandfather died without dividing his property. I am the eldest daughter of my father who is the eldest son. can i file for division of property? i want everybody to get equal share of the whole property. what is the procedure?

First you have to make clear whether it is your Grand father's self-acquired property or ancestral property.
Whether your father is alive or not.
When did your grand father die?
Where is the property situated.

though you have a right in the property but it depends which school of hindu law is applicable to you.

You can do so invoking the recent amendment of 2005 to the Hindu Succession Act.
