Further in my opinion for practical issues you may kindly visit NSE and BSE stock exchanges site. There you will find enormous practical composition of insider trading; you can even download detail of insider trading procedure and update your study.

The employees of the company will no more details of the company's performance (undisclosed to the public). If it is bad the employee sells his shares before the share looses its value, if it is good he will buy the share before its value appreciates.
In other words the trading done by the insiders of the company is called "Insider Trading."

This type of trading is not allowed by the SEBI.
