Dear All,
We got married on 20th Nov, 2011. Now i want get the marriage certificate.
Please advice in this regard.

YOU [h-w] HAVE TO SUBMITTED PRESCRIBED FORM WITH COURT FEE, 3 WITNESSES, PRIEST CERT OF MARRIAGE, AND YOUR PHOTO ID OF BOTH WITH RESPLENDENCE PROOF TO CONCERNED LOCAL AUTHORITY, [in Mumbai BMC] Municipal Corporation, who maintain Register of Marriages, and Register your Marriage there.

yes you have make application for registartion of marriage . you will need proof of marriage , marriage card , certificate of pandit who performed the marriage . identity proof etc together with witnesses

Rightly advised by experts.
Please not that the application for registration is to be made within 30 days from the date of marriage to the municipality/panchayat office of your area.
If the application is delayed you have to produce an affidavit to that effect and you are liable to pay a nominal amount of penalty for the said delay.
The documents are as advised by the experts above, which i specify as follows;
1. Photographs of husband and wife
2. Age proof of husband and wife
3. Address proof of husband and wife
4. Identity proof of husband and wife
5. certificate issued by the Pandit/temple authority where marriage took place
7. Witnesses. (Normally two from each side)
8. Photograph and identity proofs of witnesses.
It is suggested to visit your municipality office and obtain a form of marriage registration, where you can find every detials.
