Hello Whoever it may concern,
Mine is a intercaste love marriage. My husband belongs to ST and i belong to BC. How can i cahnge my sir name legally and if i have to apply for any government jobs do i need to mention my caste or my husbands caste, if i have to use my husband caste what is the procedure to be folloed to change it legally so that all my records show that i belong to ST caste now. Kindly mention the procedure is that possibel or no.

You cannot change your caste by marriage.
Name change, as per procedure of Affidavit, publication in Govt Gazette, & News Papers. as replied recently

Change of surname of woman by marriage or divorces does not required elaborate procedure. What ever be the proced brief of large you can folow. But I agree with Shroff, you will not ge the caste status of husband it will be of father only.

after marriage automatically wife can use her husband's surname. but in the documents always wife's father's name and surname apperas. IN case if you want to apply for the jobs then you will have to apply in your father's surname. If you want to use your husband's surname then you will to sworn an affidavit. It is sufficient.

You can adopt the community and caste of your husband by establishing inter-interdinig and accepting the social custom with the people of your husband's community, for which you can know the details at the Taluk office of your area.For addding surname of your husband along with your name, you can easily have it added after you get the job.Till such time, it is better to be called in your own name to avoid confusion.
