Print out of E-mails are treated as valid piece of evidence in the court of law.
So do not worry.

I agree.

According to Section 4 of IT Act:-

Legal recognition of electronic records - Where any law provides that information or any other matter shall be in writing or in the typewritten or printed form, then, notwithstanding anything contained in such law, such requirement shall be deemed to have been satisfied if such information or matter is-
(a) rendered or made available in an electronic form; and
(b) accessible so as to be usable for a subsequent reference.

Since once he has responded ,it is established that address on which you have sent emails belongs to him, then now you have sailed 3/4 th and can take a hard copy of his response as well as yours'sent to him to file in court which on your statement confirming sent and receive shall in law would be found as good a communication as a registered post is.

I differ with experts a bit.

Taking print outs won't establish it as evidence. It has to be supported by an affidavit under Sec 65B of IEA and if the other party disputes the same, then has to be proven in accordance to the Indian Evidence Act.
