all advantages only . if suit is pending in court if both parties agree case can be settled by lok adalat .

if you continue litigation it will take number of years for suit to be disposed of . you also save on lawyer fees .

no more expensive, its very easily and time savings from the case, its certain amicable settlement.

One disadvantage: One litigant can get matter listed there and then prolong the court battle by being stubborn there.
