CAN I LODGE FIR THROUGH POST INSTEAD OF PERSONALLY VISTING POLICE STATION?
Anirudh (Expert) 23 July 2013
You can do so. You have to visit them anyway to know whether registered the FIR or not.

When you go, perhaps you may come to know that they did not receive the letter which you posted earlier!

Then you will come to realise that it would have been better had you visited them in person in the first place, instead of sending the complaint by post!!

Yes, we all learn the hard way.
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 23 July 2013
You may send the letter by speed post to respective police station, copy to SP office and through FAX also. Later visit the Police Station.
Dr. Jyothi Vishwanath (Expert) 23 July 2013
