a person has been creating fake facebook and orkut profiles, i went to cyber crime in hyderabad no use, they said that hard to track the person, tried to block the profiles but the person is creating more and more and more profiles what should i do? need advice thanks

you can not do anything against that person without his/her knowledge. which type of the crime that person committed?

File a criminal complaint in court section 66 of I.T. Act even you don't know the particulars of that accused as cognizance of crime is taken and not of person. In court, made a prayer for getting registration a F.I.R.

But why are you complaining the fake facebookprofile? I know thousands of fake profile in facebook, and if they want to waste their time energy, and money creating facebook, let them have fun with it, why bother?

Its a problem only at the time of fake person create the profile of another person & started to send & upload illegal things in public.Agree with bansal Sir.

If fake profiles generated and are affecting you in any way or causing you harm like defamation, mischief, or black mailing, you should be able to guess who is the person doing this against you. give a thought taking into consideration the type of information access he has about you to put on face book which is affecting you. also consider the capabilities of the person whom you suspect to be doing so. Whether you know a person or not a complaint has to be lodged against unknown person so far you do not know him. tracking him down is matter of investigation which may take time. But you can express your doubt on any such person to the Police investigating a matter that gives the Police a direction to carry out the investigation.
If cyber crime cell is not knowing their job you can engage a professional hacker to help the police out with their investigations. you can try finding such a person to help the police with their investigation. But this has to done by taking the Police into confidence for the purpose of investigations only.The Police are likely to get enriched with his experience, which probably they may be lacking. It is always the man behind the machine which matters.
