how you concluded that the police officer has accepted illegal gratification?

the nature of offence, the circumstances all with be relevant here.

police is to act as per the provisions of penal laws of India, if the police was to catch an accused and the complainant assisted in his arrest then prima facie its not a case of corruption...

author Jolly James wanted 2 ask if vehicle arranged from purse of complainant defacto by police for inspection of spot by police inspecting the case would amount to acceptance of illegal gratification or not??

my answer is YES BUT HOW ONE CAN PROVE POLICE MUST HAVE MADE IT GOOD ON RECORDS AS COST ON STATE IN ITS RECORDS.
SAANJAAY GUPTAA (Expert) 28 August 2011
If the police asked defacto complainant to assist him in investigation and if police hire private car to catch the accused no harm in it. Police may use private car for the purpose of investigation.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 28 August 2011
Using the defacto complainant's vehicle is not illegal.

If the matter needed any urgency, the police can use any available mode of conveyance.
