A case is registered & FIR is filed. Whether sign should be obtained by Police from the witness in the statement recorded under Section 161 Cr.P.C. at any inquiry or trial in respect of any offence under investigation at the time when such statement was made.

Yes after inquiry witness signature is taken by police officer.

Well, no statements recorded u/s 161 crpc requires signature or it can be obtained.

That is sh the statements recorded u/s 161 crpc has absolutely no evidenciary value unless the witness affirm the same in court during trial.
