A lawyer doing criminal activity

A lawyer who is having an earlier criminal case against him has illegally & forcibly taken possession of a property which is on rent with us from last 5 years,being associated with criminals he rushed to my shop with more than 20 people being armed with pistol and iron rod and they criminally tress-passed into my shop and assaulted us and threatened to vacate the shop immediately claiming that the shop is rented to him for which he does not have any documentary evidence also and further he has made a false case against us too . He has been declaring to everyone in the locality that as he is an Advocate therefore no law can be enforced upon him and he has formed an group in a bar association of a lower court in westbengal so that we cannot take certified copy of our FIR against him from court. Being a law student I have no clue how can a lawyer get a certificate after being associated in so many criminal cases and still perform such criminal activities under that. Is there any way I can take some strict action against him? please help.

Otherwise, file a police complaint, no one (even if the accused is an advocate) is above law.

This isn't an imaginary story sir. Its occuring to us and even after complaining and making an non bailable fir against them police hasn't taken any action against them yet and they are roaming around freely in the locality just becauSe the culprit is a lawyer. N what has seemed to you that all these are made up story? Should I send you the details which I have sended to the commissioner also in written to prove you?

Lawyer is also a citizen and as you find many errant in the society, he is one of such cases if your story is true. Nobody can take law into his/her hands. You are a law student. Consult a local lawyer and file for injunction order.

A lawyer is by profession and he is not above law to claim exemption for his wrong doings. You have lodged complaint against him in the police, if the police is not responding properly and no remedy has arrived, you may approach court seeking remedy and relief by moving application seeking its intervention and direction to the concerned police for further and proper action against the culprits. Law is equal for all so have confidence in it and proceed as per it.
