can a wife stake claim in husband's VRS fund if she doesn't have any other source of income and husband is not giving her any assitance willingly and whatever amount she saved is not from her husbands money but monetary assitance provided to her by her father?

Wife has right to maintenance , not share in property of husband including any retiral benefits.

Terminal benefits are free from attachment.
So Husband's retirement benefits namely amount received from VRS scheme cannot be taken by wife.
Same time, she is always entitled for maintenance from husband

AMT OF MTN DEPENDS ON THE VRS AMT, PROPERTY, INCOME, STD OF LIVING FOR LAST 2-5 YRS, Necessity of Wife+ children.

VRS amount can be designated as an income of the husband and the wife can definitely claim maintenance accordingly.
