Yes you can buy. But if you want to sell it before he becomes major it is not so easy.

You can buy the property jointly on both of your names, but to sell the same during the minority of your son, you need to obtain permission of the court to sell his share of the property though you have purchased it and you are the natural guardian of your son etc.
