With all due respect, i want to confirm whether is it proximity to the event which is relevant as far as deposition of witness is concerned. There must be some nexus between the transactions that occurred and the person deposed as a witness must have held some key position in the event so that he can give some relevant facts regarding the event.
V R SHROFF (Expert) 29 September 2013
Evidence must be RELEVANT.

Nothing more to add.
Dr. Jyothi Vishwanath (Expert) 29 September 2013
Evidence must be relevant. The witness must be an eye witness or a circumstantial witness. Witness if accused, different rules will apply. His statement as a witness becomes suspicious.
