Sir,
Please advise what would be legal implecations if one senior govt officer is abused and slapped by a junior govt.officer during working hours and at work place?

The junior officer is liable for criminal and departmental action. The senior officer should lodge an FIR. He should also report the same to the higher authority for initiation of disciplinary action.

However, even if he is the disciplinary authority, he cannot himself initiate action or the place the junior officer under suspension.

He can lodge FIR and proceed to initiate disciplinary proceedings as per procedure of the Govt. department.
